We've all been there. You finally reach the end of a very long meeting and all that's left to do is set a time and date to meet again. That's when the hard work really begins.

The exchange generally goes like this. Chair: "How about the 14th?" Participant one: "Sorry, annual leave." Chair: "The 19th?" Participant two: "I think I'm on a training course." Chair: "How about the 26th?" Participant three: "Well, I'm kind of away at a conference." Chair: "How about the 30th?" Participant four: "Sorry, I've got an appraisal booked."

Eventually someone gives in, saying that they aren't really needed anyway.
