Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a people carrier. You see, apparently some 30 per cent of our service users in Southend think we're just like a reliable people carrier, with another 28 per cent likening us to a sports car.

How do we know this? Well, we asked them. Earlier this year we took some time to update our satisfaction survey and introduced some new questions, including: "If we were a car, what type of car would we be?"

Of course, we've kept in some of the more conventional questions that enable young people to rate the activities on offer or to comment on the approachability of youth workers and personal advisers.
