I'm really pleased to say that we now routinely involve young people in all of our recruitment interviews. Selection panels that don't include one or two young people are definitely the exception and not the rule.

Just last Saturday we were interviewing for sessional workers and young people were fully involved in the process.

Things haven't always been like this though, largely because involving young people in a meaningful way is hard work and very time-consuming.

Just ask anyone who has done it: young people need a lot of training and support if they're to be active and equal members of an interview team.
