I'm currently trying to convince my younger brother to consider a career in social work. I've told him that it might not sound like the most glamorous occupation in the world, but from what I see, it's a job for life and there are more than enough vacancies to go round.

From social work to youth work, and in just about every other related sector, qualified and experienced people are getting more and more difficult to find.

Now before I start to ramble on about how things weren't like this in my day, I would like to make it clear that I left university in 1995, not 1965. But even though I joined the job market less than a decade ago, I clearly remember applying for countless jobs and going along to at least 10 interviews in a few short months.
