Southend Youth and Connexions Service is an equal opportunity employer - it's equally as difficult to get a job with us, whatever your background is.
Anyone who wants to join our team will have to wade through a job pack and fill in an extensive application form before we put them through their paces at a formal panel interview. Then we'll check them out and ask for references.
Only then, when we're satisfied that they're safe, legal and fit, will we take them on, subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period, of course.
Applying to be a youth worker must feel like a job all in itself, especially if you only want to work a few evenings a week. But, after thinking about how we could make it easier, we've drawn a blank. The fact is, most of what we do is good practice or a legal requirement.
