Our remit includes helping to reduce crime, so I also support those who work with referred young people to ensure they have a placement in employment, education or training after the holidays.
What are your responsibilities? We have a target to get 33 per cent of hard-to-reach young people involved in holiday activities. I assess project bids for suitability and involve young people in the selection process. We receive up to 900 referrals per borough, so we feed information back to agencies about young people's progress and achievements over the summer. I also help facilitate the young people's partnership board, and oversee risk assessments for projects, with due regard to health and safety.
