What work do you do with these organisations? It varies. Sometimes I deliver training to the adults who work with the young people. Other times it's a developmental thing - making them aware of accreditations, almost a sales pitch. I also attend moderator meetings where I help look at completed portfolios for the Youth Achievement Award. I also work to make sure employers are recognising informal education qualifications.

How receptive are employers? Let's just say it's one of the areas we need to look at. There are still a lot of employers talking about O-levels, so we've got to move them on a fair bit. The Duke of Edinburgh's Award has been around for 70 years and that has kudos with employers, but we've got to do that with other accreditations.
