Youth groups are trialling specific training for youth workers and young people around inclusive practice and buddying. They are also helping to develop achievement award materials in alternative formats, from Braille to British Sign Language videos. After feedback, the pilot will be rolled out over the next two years, with ongoing support for workers and young people alike.
Who do you work with? I work with UK Youth's youth work team as well as a range of external organisations, from The Lifetrain Trust to the Deaf Youth Work Forum. I also chair the steering group, which includes youth workers and young people and provides input on the project.
