Back Page: And this is what I do - Cerin Richardson, artsdevelopment officer, YouthLink Scotland

1 min read

What do you do on a day-to-day basis?

I manage a web site called Create Scotland (www.create-scotland.co.uk), which has a big directory of arts contacts, as well as case studies of good practice, news and funding information and links to other sites.

I run seminars and training days for youth workers. I also help produce Arts Dimension, an e-bulletin sent to more than 700 organisations and individuals in the youth and arts sector.

Why is arts development work important? Even in formal settings, you can teach anything through the arts. Any issue can be tackled and explored in a creative way. Using a youth work approach makes tackling a difficult subject more accessible to young people.
