I have the task of ensuring that every aspect of the service meets the highest possible standards.
What's a typical day? I don't have a typical day and love the variety of the job.
I might go to a conference on the mental health of young people, write a piece of training, network with mental health services, see a young client as part of my own caseload, work on a user-friendly complaints policy or initiate consultation.
How did you get the job? My boss begged me to do it. Having worked for Relate as a practice consultant, I didn't think I would enjoy working on one project. But it is a joy to have so much thinking space without all the demands of firefighting. I was a counsellor with children and students for 14 years.
