What is a typical day/week for you? I'm often found working on our web site, making sure news and information are kept up to date. Otherwise I'll be out delivering workshops or developing partnerships with youth groups and other charities. Recent months have seen a lot of my time spent working with BSkyB producing new resources to assist in our prevention programmes, including new videos.
How do you measure the effectiveness of your work? Much of the funding for our education work comes from the Responsibility in Gambling Trust, a charitable trust established to fund education, treatment and research around problem gambling in the UK. When applying for funding we outline detailed plans relating to effectiveness and service levels that we can measure. As well as reporting our education work on a quarterly basis, we update them with progress and statistics from our helpline, counselling and web site.
