The project is a partnership between Canterbury Christ Church University and the Kent Refugee Action Network.
The young people will write, animate and edit their own films for the project, entitled Home to Home. The two-week initiative will also see them design artwork for two films, Our Country and Coming to England.
Animator Dan Richards, who will be working with the young people, said they chose animation because it is a powerful way to get their message across. "These teenagers have all travelled to the UK from war-torn countries such as Afghanistan and Eritrea," he said. "The films will highlight the pressures, frustrations and worries they face and help the local community understand their own culture in a unique way."
