Kent County Council and Kent Youth

What did they do? Kent County Council asked Kent Youth to help it produce a directory of approved extended services providers for schools.

It organised a training day for all providers who wanted to be in the directory. The aim of the day was to check quality standards and explore how providers thought their services could benefit schools.

Why Kent Youth? Kent Youth is the county constituent organisation of Clubs for Young People and UK Youth, and supports more than 200 voluntary youth groups and projects across the county.

What was the outcome? Providers received bespoke support materials and information about local schools' improvement plans and Ofsted reports. The directory now acts as a Yellow Pages of extended services for schools. It lists 52 external providers.
