The guidelines, published by the National Union of Teachers (NUT), recommends using these measures to tackle the stress caused by poor pupil behaviour and school inspections.
Health and Safety Executive stress management standards set out six stress factors all staff should be aware of, while the promotion of occupational health schemes is encouraged to help advise staff at risk of developing mental health problems.
The NUT guidelines were produced in conjunction with three other unions: Unison, Unite and the GMB.
