Young people take to streets to make their voices heard

Youth Work
Young people will be challenging shoppers to earn fortune cookies in towns and cities across England this Saturday, as they gather views on how to tackle issues such as crime and teenage pregnancy.

The 16- to 25-year-olds are from the Agents4Change project, which is coordinated by UK volunteering charity CSV with support from Tesco and youth volunteering charity v.

The Don't Write Us Off event will take place in towns and cities including London, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester, Coventry, Swindon, Reading, Sheffield, Gloucester and Ashford.

The young people have already surveyed more than 400 of their peers on their greatest concerns, which include crime, teenage pregnancy, drink, drugs, gangs and education. They will be using the information to set up projects to tackle the issues and to lobby for increased involvement of young people in central and local government.
