Sunderland, Knowsley, Leeds, Staffordshire, Kensington and Chelsea, Sutton, Hampshire, Kent and Cornwall all had looked-after children who had been moved more than ten times in the year ending 31 March 2008.
Cornwall also had two children with more than 20 moves as opposed to the figure of 25, which was listed in the previous incorrect data.
The Department for Children School's and Families (DCSF) was forced to withdraw figures that showed around 200 children faced more than 10 placement moves in a year.
The data was published following a question from Tim Loughton shadow children's minister Beverley Hughes who released the figures in the House of Commons last week.
