The conference highlighted successful work carried out by the National Youth Agency (NYA) and Equal Equity over the last two years.

Equal Equity works to increase the proportion of black youth workers and youth workers of colour in leadership, management and policy roles.

Through its partnership with the NYA, the organisation ran its Impact Incubator project which helped to increase the scale of 21 organisations led by black people and people of colour.

During the conference Leigh Middleton, NYA chief executive, covered the sector-wide issues around racial justice including the disparities of those in leadership positions and the work that NYA has been doing to commit to developing work with black and practitioners of colour. Ayub Seedar from Here for Youth explored themes of working with communities, islamophobia and faith-led practice.
