Education charity ContinYou welcomed the announcement that 7,000 schools are now providing the core offer, including parenting support, childcare and community access.
Julian Piper, extended services director at ContinYou said: ”We have all become increasingly passionate about this agenda over the years and are now seeing that the dreams have become a reality and many of the outcomes have been way beyond our expectations.”
Last week the Department for Children, Schools and Families released a survey showing that there has been a 117 per cent increase in the number of places in holiday clubs and a 58 per cent increase in after-school club places since 2003.
