Minute’s silence for key workers 

A minute’s silence was held at 11am today in honour of key workers who have died after contracting Covid-19, including Birmingham social worker Muhammad Islam, Carol Challoner, a member of Liverpool's leaving care team, and a social worker at Southwark Council who has not been named.

More than 100 NHS and care staff have died after contracting the virus, as well as many transport drivers and other key workers. 

£3m pledged to protect children witnessing domestic abuse

The government has vowed to invest an extra £3.1m on child abuse services to support an increasing number of young witnesses and victims of domestic violence.
