Hull calls for powers to close schools

Hull City Council leader Stephen Brady has written a personal letter to Boris Johnson asking him to intervene in a spike in cases in the northern city.

Brady has called for the Prime Minister to grant the council powers to impose more restrictions including the closure of schools.

Hull currently has 770 cases of coronavirus per 100,000 people.
