HERTFORDSHIRE BRIEF THERAPY SERVICE

Aim To help young people with a range of issues find ways of making changes
Funding
Youth Connexions Hertfordshire service

Michaela Taylor-Boakes, 19, wasn't sure what to expect from her first brief therapy session. Now she's a staunch advocate, one of many helped by the short courses of therapy offered by the Hertfordshire Brief Therapy Service.

Sessions are delivered by therapists Maureen Linsdell and Louise Gorrod, who are employed by Youth Connexions Hertfordshire. Linsdell offers solution-focused brief therapy while Gorrod specialises in the Human Givens approach. Both approaches involve working together with a young person to find solutions to problems rather than telling them what to do.
