YOUTH MARK

Aim: To enable young people to shape high-quality services for others

Funding: Around £100,000 a year. Currently sponsored by Y-gen

Young people are helping to improve youth services through a successful quality mark scheme. Youth Mark - the quality award for young people's services - was developed by north London-based charity Y-gen with help from young people.

Groups of 16- to 19-year-olds assess services to see if they qualify for bronze, silver or gold awards. Participants include those not in training, education or employment, those with learning difficulties and high achievers, who are recruited through organisations such as colleges, Connexions and the volunteering charity V.
