The Serious Youth Violence Board, chaired by Darra Singh, is intended to build on the work of the Gangs, Guns and Weapons Board and the London Youth Crime Prevention Board.
Singh, currently chief executive at Ealing Council, says he is under no illusion that the new board will be judged by results.

"I don't want to be involved in a body that gets together and talks but at the end of the meeting nothing happens," he says. "There is a shared commitment to making sure that this is not just a talking shop."
