Visitors can tour the Regency seaside palace of King George IV, The Pavilion, or take a look at Brighton's many quirky museums. They can check out whale and dinosaur bones at the Booth Museum of Natural History, speak to working fisherman at the Fishing Museum, or take a tour of Brighton Old Police Cells, and, if they are feeling brave, the Victorian Sewers.
For those who want an adrenaline rush, then there's Brighton Pier. Here, the 125-feet high Super Booster rollercoaster reaches 60mph in less than three seconds.
How to get there
By train: Brighton is just under an hour from London Victoria Station. There are also regular services from Thameslink stations, as well as direct services from Scotland, the North West, Midlands, West Country and South Wales.
