General Election 2024: Investing in young people should be a no-brainer for our next government

For nearly 70 years, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) has been helping young people develop life-long belief in themselves, take on new challenges, follow their passions and discover talents they never knew they had.

During that time one thing is abundantly clear; young people are resilient, they are positive, and they are driven, and – if we give them the right support and opportunities – there is no limit to what they can achieve. 

As chief executive of this fantastic charity, I’m privileged to see just what young people are capable of every day.  I also see the importance and benefits of listening to young people and giving them a say on the decisions that directly affect them – not just because it’s right, but because their unique perspectives and ideas make us a better, more effective organisation.
