THE SITUATION
Carol is a single mum of two boys — Lewis, aged nine, and Gary, 15. Police have been called to the family home more than 20 times in the past three months to deal with complaints of antisocial behaviour and blazing rows and the family has been threatened with eviction by the housing association that owns the property they rent. Gary was recently caught shoplifting and both boys have been getting into trouble, including skipping school and several incidences of graffiti and vandalism in the neighbourhood. It is clear mum is struggling to control the behaviour of her sons and needs help. The house is a mess and she is very down, perhaps clinically depressed. What would you do?
