A lot of people close to me have struggled with alcohol and drug addiction. So two years ago when my friend mentioned the London Youth Involvement Project, I decided to join. It's run by Mentor, a drug and alcohol abuse prevention charity, and involves about 10 young people from London.

When I first took part in sports sessions with So-Fly in Torbay I was scared to talk to people and wasn't able to socialise because I was too nervous. But, the sessions gave me confidence and helped me talk to new people and make more friends.
