My Life - Haniya Rizvi, 16, Harrow

Youth Work Youth volunteering
I've just taken part in the National Citizen Service scheme in Harrow.

For eight weeks, I've been on residential trips with a group of 16-year-olds. We tried out snowboarding, mountain biking and various outdoor and indoor activities. After, we were expected to do 50 hours community work on an issue of our choice. It seems a lot, but it was great fun.

We met homeless people at Centrepoint, did a sponsored sleepout to experience a homeless night for ourselves, and have been deliberating other fundraiser ideas since.
