
The inspection, which took place between 26 and 30 June, found all aspects of the local authority’s services to be “outstanding”.
Since the inspectorate's last visit in 2018, when the local authority was also rated "outstanding" overall, inspectors found that areas which had previously been identified as needing improvement had been strengthened.
This includes improvements in the arrangements for children who are in private foster care and in quality planning for disabled children.
“Child and family assessments, including those for disabled children and for unborn children, are comprehensive, thoughtful and analytical,” Ofsted's report states. “The trauma informed approach taken by workers sensitively explores how children see and feel about themselves.”
