The outer London Council retained the inspectorate’s top rating following a previous “outstanding” inspection in 2019.

During the Ofsted visit, inspectors examined children’s experiences with the local authority around help, protection and care.

According to its report “Redbridge has a sustained record of strong performance in children’s services.”

“Children in Redbridge are listened to and their feelings are put at the heart of decision-making. Social workers build strong relationships with children and get to know them well,” it states.

Children who are looked after by the council receive “excellent care”, living in stable and nurturing homes, with regular visits from social workers, the report adds.
