NYA Update: NYA young associate recognised in New Year Honours list

National Youth Agency young associate Robyn Keeble has been recognised for her work to change the perceptions of young people by being awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours list.

Robyn set up SW!TCH ID in 2009 to encourage young people to make a positive contribution to their local community.

Based in Dagenham, SW!TCH ID has developed into a large-scale campaign to change perceptions and raise young people to lead in their communities, and now includes weekly training sessions for the young people involved. A core team of six young people aged 16 to 19 organise the events and training, and all the young volunteers play a part in planning and running campaigns.

Fiona Blacke, NYA chief executive, commented: "We are really proud of Robyn's achievements. Her work is going a long way to ensure young people are recognised as positive contributors to society and we are delighted she is part of the NYA's young associate team."
