NYA Update: Awarding success at NYA

1 min read
The National Youth Agency's commitment to supporting young people through apprenticeships has been recognised with a prestigious award.

Leicester College presented National Youth Agency operations director Jon Boagey with an Awards to Industry certificate at an event held in Leicester last month.

The award was given in recognition of the agency's contribution and support to Leicester College through providing apprenticeships with the college since 2008.

The National Youth Agency has offered apprenticeships on an informal basis since its inception. The organisation's approach has formalised over the past three years - joining forces with Leicester College to offer trainees the chance to gain formal qualifications to support their practical experience.

"Supporting young people's personal and social development is at the heart of everything we do," said Boagey.

"We have had a number of successful apprentices over the years who we have seen flourish through being provided the right support and environment to grow their skills and confidence in the workplace. We are delighted their achievements with us have been recognised."
