NCB, Sustainability and Environment Education (SEEd) and Think Global have come together to explore how best we can respond to this new era for schools. Following a well-attended series of consultation events, the Sustainable Schools Alliance (SSA) will launch on 29 March with cross-department ministerial support. It is a special opportunity to discuss SSA's joint objectives, contributing to a more sustainable future by promoting strong mutual support within the education sector.
The alliance aims to provide a clear and compelling offer of support to all schools in the country, which will help them to put sustainability at the heart of what they do. NCB, SEEd and Think Global are leading on developing the alliance, in agreement with partners, because they represent and reach stakeholders across their respective sectors.
There is no doubt that it is a challenging time for Sustainable Schools, but it is also an exciting time. The Department for Education supports the proposal for the alliance, and if we act now we can build on the momentum of the last few years of work to continue to put sustainability at the heart of the education system.
SUPPORT FOR SCHOOLS
- The strength of the Sustainable Schools Alliance (SSA) will come from the breadth of organisations involved, all of which can offer support to schools to encourage them to put sustainability at the heart of what they do
