NCVYS and NCB have worked together for many years on a range of projects both to improve the lives of children and young people and support the children and young people's voluntary and community sector.
The two organisations will explore ways in which they can work more closely across a range of services to increase efficiency and effectiveness and thereby maximise the impact of their work on behalf of children and young people.
NCB and NCVYS will remain as independent organisations, but will ensure they reduce duplication in an effort to strengthen their support to their respective stakeholders.
Sir Paul Ennals, NCB chief executive, says: "Partnership and collaborative working are at the heart of all that NCB does in promoting the effective participation of children and young people. Working in partnership with similar organisations is undoubtedly the way forward and should be actively encouraged and promoted by organisations."
