NCB Now: Play in primary schools -- book now

1 min read
NCB's Play England, Learning Through Landscapes and South Gloucestershire Council have come together to present a groundbreaking event focusing on play in primary schools.

Play in Primary Schools: a Head to Head Conference takes place on 29 November, and will help school leaders, and those who work with them, create the right conditions for children to play as part of the school day.

Head teachers report that increased playtime brings many benefits including better behaviour, fewer accidents, less bullying, and a greater sense of community as all children play together. Importantly, head teachers say children come back to class "ready to learn".

The one-day event is introduced by Mike Welsh, head teacher and past-president of the National Association of Head Teachers. A lively day of presentations and workshops includes Stuart Lester, Wendy Russell and Dr Owain Jones on the research findings of the Outdoor Play and Learning programme in Gloucestershire.

The event will also give delegates the chance to meet other head teachers from schools where play has already made a tangible difference to improving children's outcomes.

Places are limited so book now at www.playengland.org.uk/events.
