Play in primary schools events

Head teachers tell us that transforming playtimes can save money, relieve pressure and lead to improved behaviour and attitudes to learning. Play England (part of NCB), Learning through Landscapes, and South Gloucestershire Council, are organising two events to help school leaders find out how they can quickly and cheaply improve play opportunities in schools.

30 June: Field of Dreams study tour

The Field of Dreams study tour aims to inspire delegates by visiting six different landscapes for play and learning, including primary schools, public parks and early years settings, with a chance to meet their designers and hear about the theory and practice behind their designs.

1 July: Play in Primary Schools: Head to Head conference

This conference is aimed at school leaders, school governors and those that shape the environments that children learn in. This conference day will include a mixture of keynote presentations from specialists in the field and practical workshops. Each workshop will be hosted by an expert in play and a head teacher whose school has already tried the improvements, and can tell you how increasing play opportunities has changed their school and the health, wellbeing and achievements of pupils.
