ReDesign Youth has been set up by Ray Brown, a building designer currently studying at the School for Social Entrepreneurs in Bethnal Green, east London.
Brown has been working in commercial building design for about 10 years, but did a project on youth centre design when he was at university. He now wants to look at how some of his ideas could be put into practice.
He said a youth club should not be like a school "where you are either in or you are out", but should be a centre young people can interact with in a way they feel comfortable. The work of the centre could take place inside, on the street, or online.
