The London Borough of Tower Hamlets has invited organisations to attend a briefing next month to find out more about how they can tender to deliver the youth service from next September.
The youth service in Tower Hamlets has been run by three providers since 2001, following a 1999 Ofsted report that identified "major deficiencies" in the service, according to Steve Sipple, head of youth service.
The "adequate" verdict given by Ofsted this January has persuaded the youth service to extend its next few contracts from four years to five, said Sipple.
"Outsourcing was a groundbreaking move. We need to make sure we get bids from the organisations with a large enough capacity," he said.
