Youth Services: Tower Hamlets to re-tender after problems with contractor

The youth and community service handed out contracts last year to a number of organisations to carry out youth work across the borough (YPN, 4-10 October, p5).

A consortium led by the Davenant Youth Centre of Excellence, including community organisation Oxford House and Bishop Challoner Catholic Collegiate School, was set to hold four contracts.

Bishop Challoner is delivering youth work under contract in one area, but the work that Oxford House and Davenant were supposed to deliver in the other three areas is now being delivered by other members of the consortium under service-level agreements with the council, which is managing the work in-house.
