The Partnership for Young London will provide services working with young people in the city with a range of support similar to that offered by the regional youth work units that exist in the rest of England.
Marjory Hester, the consultant hired to set up the partnership, told Young People Now the organisation would help co-ordinate youth work in London and ensure young people had access to high-quality services.
"London has a large number of boroughs and youth organisations and they often duplicate each other when they should be working in harmony," she said. "All the services involved in the partnership recognise this and feel a co-ordinated approach is key to improving youth work practice. Our aim is to improve the quality of services."
