Youth Services: London to develop coalition of services

The Partnership for London Young People will aim to strengthen and develop the capital's youth services through co-operation between agencies.

It will act as a voice for the youth service, responding to youth policies, and will provide grants to projects.

Wayne Wreglesworth, London regional officer for The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, a member of the partnership, said: "This arose out of regional youth work units and has enormous potential for London."

The organisation will operate out of the Corporation of London's offices in the Guildhall.

Members include Central London Connexions, the Association of Principal Youth and Community Officers and London Youth. The Government Office for London has helped fund the partnership.
