Mission: To prevent young people entering the criminal justice system, and reduce reoffending
Funding: About 200,000 a year from groups including the Youth Justice Board
From small beginnings in a disused flat on the Llanrumney estate, Cardiff's Youth Inclusion Programme (YIP) has grown into a much wider scheme, working with partners across the city.
The programme still fulfils its remit to work with the 50 young people in the area identified as most at risk of offending, but it also gets involved with the Fire Service, the Splash programme - which is Wales' equivalent of Positive Activities for Young People - and more conventional partners such as the police.
