Ealing Council is to apply for planning permission to build a skatepark in Elthorne Park in Hanwell after a consultation showed most residents supported the plans.
Opponents had argued the skatepark could become a magnet for antisocial behaviour and spoil the aesthetics of the park.
Piers Leigh, who spearheaded the skatepark campaign, said: "We've been trying to get this skatepark built for two years and we've had a large amount of support."
