HANNAH MCCONVILLE, 15, Manchester - "I think they are right to wear the veil but not as a teacher or in schools. Also, in fashion there's a top you can wear that covers your entire face but only shows your eyes. So, if it's OK to wear that, then what is stopping Muslim women from wearing veils?"

JANET IDOWU, 18, Wickford, Essex - "I don't think veils should be worn but the headscarf is OK. The veils stop communication properly and are a barrier. I don't mind it, but it's difficult to communicate with someone wearing a veil. Even in Mecca, they are not supposed to wear a veil"
