Young want more to do after school

More than a third of young people want more after-school activities, a survey has found.

Youth research agency Dubit quizzed 500 young people aged 11 to 16 on how they spend their free time after school. Four out of five regularly spent it watching television.

The research was carried out for the Department for Children, Schools and Families' Altogether Better for Children campaign and showed that in areas where schools offered the best access to activities, fewer young people said they were bored.
