Young people to head-up TeamV

Youth Work
A volunteering scheme that aims to give young people the chance to make changes in their communities is set to launch next month.

Under the TeamV programme, youth leaders aged between 18 and 25 will be selected to recruit and manage volunteers to carry out social projects in their area.

Volunteers will also be expected to tackle three key social issues in their communities. Training camps will help them develop practical budgeting, leadership and organisational skills.

At the end of the programme, TeamV leaders will have the chance to apply for a scholarship of up to £1,000 to help them continue with their education or assist with their personal development.

The scheme is being delivered by the charity V in partnership with the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education, the Charities Aid Foundation and the Rank Foundation.
