A derelict mill is set to receive a makeover that will transform thebuilding into a youth centre featuring a six-storey climbing wall, agym, music studio and hostel accommodation.
Young people in the district chose Leeds-based Bowman Riley Architectsfor the task, after holding an open day for firms to exhibit their ideasfor the building.
Jenny Bass, youth worker for the council's integrated youth supportservice, said: "Young advisers are working to tight deadlines in orderto ensure Myplace funding is secured.
"One of the conditions is the submission of a planning application andit was essential to get the architects in place to start work onthis."
