What will it fund?
The foundation's Central Grants are for work that supports children and young people who have disabilities; are sick in hospital; are homeless or at risk of homelessness; or life limited (requiring palliative care).
Applications are open to registered charities in the UK and Ireland.
Central grants are aimed at supporting smaller charities and therefore the foundation will typically not consider large charities showing normal charitable expenditure of more than £2m.
How much is available?
The foundation distributes £150,000 each quarter with grants made up to the value of £30,000. Funding can be requested for up to two years for any particular project. Those applying for more than £10,000 are likely to be invited to make a short presentation to the grants committee, or host a visit from a foundation representative.
