On top of this, for every £1 raised by the foundation, St James's Place Wealth Management matches it with a further £1. During the past 22 years, the foundation has raised and distributed in excess of £40m to good causes. It is hoping to donate somewhere in the region of £6.4m during 2015.
How much is available? The small grants programme is available to smaller UK charities working nationally, regionally or locally in the UK with an annual income of up to £750,000. The amount applied for should be up to a maximum of £10,000 in any two-year rolling period. If an applicant is unsuccessful, then they must wait 12 months before re-applying.
What will it pay for? The foundation will support projects that provide directly for young people under the age of 25 within the UK who suffer from physical or mental health difficulties or conditions, or a life-threatening or degenerative illness, or are disadvantaged or socially marginalised. This includes young people under the age of 25 who care for others. Applications are accepted from national, regional and local charities operating in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
What is the deadline? There are no deadlines or closing dates. Small grants are considered on a rolling basis. The application procedure can take between four and six months.
