In January Conservative MP Ann Widdecombe visited the Andover Estate in Islington for an edition of Tonight with Trevor McDonald.
However, young people involved in the documentary were less than impressed when the show aired and painted a grim picture of life, with hoodie-wearing gangs terrorising the estate. The young people have now created their own documentary called Life Beyond the Hoodie.
Jojo Oliveira, 18, was involved in the film and said he hopes it changes people's perceptions of young people living on the estate. "She misrepresented us and we were upset about it," he said. "It was unfair, the people she was talking about aren't us."
